I am having issues getting one of the USB 3.1 red ports at the back to work with this SATA to USB 3.1 Gen2 adapter. One of the USB 3.1 red ports works perfectly fine. However the other USB 3.1 red port detects the device at USB 3.1, but the drive disappears a few seconds afterwards, and can never be used with this port. When looking for products, you want to try and make sure that you get USB 3.1 Generation 2 ports. Generation 1 is sort of a stopgap for the standard. While still technically USB 3.1, it uses just half the speed at 5Gbps which effectively makes it almost no different then getting a USB 3.0 port.
Therefore, supposing that the port in query does help the DisplayPort alt mode, how many displays can I run óff it? And at whát promises?
I remember reading through that you can operate a solitary 4K screen over a 3.1 gen 1 port, is usually this proper?
If that will be right, would it end up being fair to suppose that you can run 2 1080p shows over the same slot? (presuming that the shows are extended).
I know that's a lot of questions, but I haven't long been capable to discover the reply through googling. (Not to mention the differences in USB standards etc. has obtained me very puzzled )
Thanks in progress!
